Courtesy and Acceptance

"Of course I’ll hurt you. Of course you’ll hurt me.
Of course we will hurt each other.
But this is the very condition of existence.
To become spring, means accepting the risk of winter.
To become presence, means accepting the risk of absence."
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Manon, Ballerina

Assalamualaikum silent readers :)

People always say things behind your back, no matter what you do. And the most inconvenient time was when you were at the time of sadness (such as death of a family member, etc). These kind of people like to rub salt into the wound. Some of the things they said may be true, but hey, have you ever heard of courtesy?

A wise woman once said to me:
"People talk, and yes they are allowed to. They are allowed to talk if what we did was wrong. But, they were being inconsiderate. They already knew that we are in hardship, but they talk anyway. Just be patient. Just take the truth from their sayings,  and forget the bad. We can never refrain them from talking."

Another thing, people who tell other people (who is not his/her family member) about family matters. I know that you want people to know your anger, but please, anything that happens inside the house says inside.

If things like this happens to you, first and foremost, you should remind yourself that someone who gives you advice privately cares about you, but someone who does it publicly just want to humiliate you. Secondly, protect your tongue from saying things that hurt people, because it will leave a mark in their hearts no matter what. And lastly, people have no power over you, so just be patient.

Thats all from me for now,
Till next time, InshaAllah.

Venus vs Mars (Part 1)

Marisa believes in soulmates. She believes that everything is already written by God. She believes that everything in this world is made in pairs. She believes that soulmates were paired even before Earth was created. She believes that love will eventually come to her when God said so.

She just turned 27. Reality just hit her. One thing that she just realised:  Most of her friends have settled down, while she on the other hand just started her internship at OT Hospital. Oh what a sweet life.

~~~
39 year-old Dan has doubts about love. Love took his heart away. It happened when his dear wife, Tracey, left him for a younger man 10 years ago. His wife defended herself by stating the fact that he was always busy with patients, operations, meetings and etc.
Tracey: “I was always alone. You were always away. Don’t you know how I feel?!”
Dan: “But, what am I supposed to do? Take days off? Quit?”
Tracey: “Huhh. It doesn’t matter now. WE ARE OVER DAN!”
Dan: “Tracey… please.. Just give me another chance to make things right.. Please, I beg
you.”
Tracey: “Oh please. Just sign this paper Dan. And then, we are over, for good.”
Tracey: “Oh and,you know what Dan. The guy that I’m dating right now, he is way better than you. He CARES Dan. He cares about me. I’ve never felt this way towards a guy before. People said that if you love someone, you have to let them go. Do you love me Dan? If yes,
please just let me go”
And just like that… a marriage that was beautifully built 10 years ago was destroyed. And people expect Dan to believe in love? Not a chance.
~~~
Her first month as an intern was worse than she expected. Everything that she did was wrong in the eyes of that old, cold-hearted, annoying Senior Medical Officer.

Marisa: “I am so sorry Dr. Dan, I did exactly what you ordered me to. What did I do wrong this time?”
Dan: “Can’t you see that it is stated clear that patient from bed 10 still needs to be treated? Why did you discharge him? And Marisa, where are the patients from bed 24 and 29? Did you discharge them to?! EVERYTHING IS WRONG MARISA. ”
Marisa: “But Dr, you were the one who told me to discharge them..”
Dan: “No, I did not. I will not tolerate if anything like this happens again. Do I make myself clear!?”
Marisa: “……….yes Dr.”

~~~
“Beep Beep”. The sound came from his phone. Wordings came up on his phone:
“Reminder:
    DISCHARGE PT BED 10, 24, 29”
Dan: “Oh crap.”
While on his way to the canteen, he saw Marisa passing by.
He felt guilty, and he knew that he should apologise for his wrong-doings, but his mouth froze when he was face-to-face with Marisa.  Admitting that he was wrong was the last thing that he would do as a man. Never, he said, Never.
Marisa: “Are you okay Dr?”
Dan: (Stares at her blankly)
Marisa: “Dr?”
Dan: “Mm..a..Marisa. I’m fine. You should get back to work.”
~~~

Mum: “Honey, how is work? I hope everything is okay…”
Marisa: “Hmm mum, it was bad. Seriously bad. There is this male doctor, who always make my day worse. Mum, do I really have no other hospital to go to other than OT?”
Mum: “Marisa, you do know the reason why your dad wants you to work there right?”
Marisa: “I know mum. I know that grandpa worked there before. But do I need to work there just to continue his so-called ‘legacy’????? This is ridiculous mum. And I don’t think I can survive longer mum. That old meanie doctor is getting on my nerves.”
Mum: “How old is this ‘old meanie doctor’of yours Marisa? Is he married?”
Marisa: “Mum. Listen. He is old. Ok. Like… 40 old. OLD old. And I didn’t see a ring in his finger so I guess he is not? Plus, who would want to get married with that cold meanie?”
Mum: “Honey, don’t say things that you will regret.. as cliché as it sounds, you might fall for him someday.. Hehe. Just kidding. Relax my dear, you can do it!”
Marisa: “EWW, MUM. Please okay. Please just don’t… He is good-looking but please mum no.”
Mum: “Okay okay.. okay dear, I need to hang up now. Do take care and just hang in there. Talk to you soon!”
“Never in a million years will I ever fall for that kind of person. Urggh.” Marisa said to herself.

I ask only You.

"Because You alone can accept my wishes and dreams. Whatever I do I can never make things happen without Your permission. It is only You the Almighty that can say ‘be’ and verily it will be.
So I beg and pray to You - the most Merciful. Forgive my sins, those I am aware of and those I am not. Ya Allah, ya Al-Fattah, open my eyes and heart to the truth. Let my actions always do what is right, because ya Allah on the Day of Judgement I don’t want to be amongst those who have been unjust and blind. Ya Allah clean my heart from hatred and arrogance and fill it with kindness and love. Let me meet each person with a smile upon my face, and leave the person with joy in their heart, please ya Rabb. I ask only You."

Gratitude, Improvements, Reminders.

We are not perfect human beings, nor do we have to pretend to be,
but it is necessary for us to be
the best versions of ourselves
we can be.

Assalamualaikum silent readers :)

Alhamdulillah for everthing. Alhamdulillah for making me pass this sem.
Although I may not deserve it, but alhamdulillah. :')
guess what...... all of us passed sem 1 ! (year 2)
I found out about this a week ago and our results were officially released today.
InshaAllah, I will definitely work extra hard next sem!

Things that I need to improve.....
1) Be more attentive during lectures.
2) Try not to procrastinate too much
3) Be more focus on my goals
4) Try not to compare myself with others
5) Stick to my timetable

I hope it is not too late to make this improvements, Aamin.

To those who passed with satisfying results, congratulations..
and to those who should've passed...
  remind yourself that every cloud has a silver lining, remind yourself that you can bounce back
  stronger in the future, that you can do it, that you shouldn't give up. If there is a will, there is
  definitely a way :)

Remind yourself that He loves you & that what you wanted may not be the best for you,
and He knows the best.

Thats all from me for now,
Till next time, InshaAllah.

The Inevitable

And every soul in this world will taste death.

Assalamualaikum silent readers :)

As a muslim, we believe that everyone will die, sooner or later.
I, too, have acknowledged that but I was kind of... carefree about it?
But, when my cousin passed away last Feb, my perspective changed.
Yes, I do know that it can happen to anyone, young or old.
But I honestly never thought that he would be taken by God at such a young age.
He was nearly 24. He was at an age of settling down.
With him gone so suddenly..... woke me up from this temporary world, Dunya.
It made me realised that each one of us can be taken Home anytime.
What is life without surprises eh?
The point I'm trying to make is that, death never really hits me close to home until
I actually experience losing someone that doesnt come back.

The only thing that we can do is that... make most of the time left in this world with good things.
Appreciate people, especially your parents.
Protect your tongue from saying useless stuffs/ stuffs that may hurt people.
Be a good person. No matter what your beliefs are, be good.

Thats all from me for now,
Till next time, InshaAllah.

Remember December

You don't just fall in love with people,
you can fall in love with non-living things too.
And... it is better to fall for the latter because
your heart & mind  will work better.
They won't contradict with each other. I suppose.

Assalamualaikum silent readers :)

Ive just started my sem break a week ago & so far it has been a hectic week...
I couldnt enjoy my sleep for now....... cus I am very worried of my results.
I am just hoping for a pass. Aamiin. (I hope everyone pass, aamiin)
Honestly, I really don't have a plan B, but I do know everyone should have 1...

Have you ever fall in love with something over time? I know this phrase may sound cliche, but
I have..but not with a person. ok.  I have fallen in love with my course.
Let me explain so I do not sound WEIRD.

ok so..first things first. Unlike some of my friends, I never wanted to be a doctor when I was little.
Why? cus I honestly dont think I can make it. My ambition was actually quite vague... I wanted to be a successful woman. Thats all. When I finished 6th form & apply for my course in uni, it was actually my parents who asked my to do medicine. At first, I really don't want to do it cus Ive never thought about taking it at first.... But then, someone actually changed my mind. It was my last day of attachment in the lab and I went to talk to one of the doctors & ask her what medicine was like. And from that moment I knew that I wanted that job. "To help people, to save lives, that 'feeling' when someone's suffering is relieved because of you". Yeah, that kind of job. And ofcourse, it was God who opened my heart.

Medicine is a grey area, and that is what makes it hard... and interesting. And my feelings for this course was "grey" during the 1st sem of Year 1. As time goes by... I found some doctors* who inspired me with their passion for their job. They became my inspiration, my motivation.. & I hope I can be like them one day.. inshaAllah. I promise I will work harder next sem (if I pass this sem, Aamiin!). I hope to be an aspiring oncologist one day.... cus I am very into cancer and anything related to it.

If I manage to graduate & officially hold the title, I would like to change some skeptical thoughts the public have such as:
1) doctors like to operate people cus they will get paid more (not all doctors are like that.. okay)
2) doctors always prescribe alot of medicine. they are only killing us, not curing us!
3) they dont care about us
4) they are idiots
5) it is their fault!!!

*Dr Anwar Fazal & Dr Beni inspires me with their meaningful tweets. They treat their patients as human being & I can see their sincerity in the sacrifices (time, life, etc) they made for strangers that need their help.

Thats all from me for now, inshaAllah will update as often as possible.
Till next time, InshaAllah.
